Thought about you guys last weekend
« on: July 31, 2009, 04:25:11 AM »
Coming back from our annual stay at Jekyll Island this week Kathie and I stopped in Darian, Georgia for lunch.  But first we decided to visit "Fort King George" supposedly the oldest British fort in the country, dating to 1721 I believe.   :-\

It was all very interesting but what made me think of y'all (especially you Double D) was the proliferation of cannon!  They was everywheres!  Mostly field pieces but also swivel guns and one morter.  They looked and felt real to me, and some had interesting markings, but not being a cannon-cocker what do I know...  :-[

Unfortunately Kathie had packed the camara away so I couldn't take any pictures.   :(  But I thought about y'all!   ;D

Well thanks for posting the link for me!  Duh!  I still never think to search the internet...  :-[  One of the pictures shows the morter I was talking about.
