« on: July 29, 2009, 07:27:27 AM »
How much trade in value does this 9mm Revolver have?  Does it have any collector value?  It's new with the box and everything.  Thank You

I saw a good looking 640 in 9mm forget the model number but it was inline with the other J frame pocket guns in the case.
So if your 527 is similar to another standard model it would be in line with that price.
Best to go to the bookstore and look it up in the Blue book.

I think if you look closer you will see that it's a model 547. Guys over at the Smith&Wesson forum really like them and you could probably sell it quite easy there. Prices seem to range between 5 and 7 hundred on the auction sites. Tried to sell my 4 inch version for $500 a year or so ago without any luck locally. All in where you sell it I guess. A dealer probably wouldn't offer you much. You'd do better selling it privately. Think they only made about 5,000 of them. Good Luck.
