Anybody know where a guy could book a hog in Arkansas or nearby?

If you find out, let me know. I've got a hall full of male teachers and one female who would love to go hog blastin'. (A great way to vent frustrations!)

Blasting hogs is a great way to vent your frustrations?  What kind of frustrations do you have?  I hope you're kidding, because if you're not, you and that hall full of teachers are sick and need professional help.  rdnck.

Yes I'm kidding, but it's obvious you know little about the strees of teaching in public schools today. I started to give a more detailed answer, but the verse came to mind about "casting pearls before swine."

Hey Griz, I understand all too well. I'm a retired teacher. See if you can get all the staff involved in an afternoon of paintball...hahaha.
Hey, hold my beer and watch this.

Not a bad idea. Been trying to get a couple involved in Cowboy Action Shooting. We'd just like to all go hunting together. A pork fest got the top votes, but we just don't know where to go. Since there's not a hog season in Arkansaw we could work that into and around our schedules easier.

Griz :  He was about 25yds. when I shot him the first shot then the distance started closing fast, I used a S&W 4in 686 because when the wife came in and woke me I opened the safe to get the S&W 57 and it was unloaded and the ammo for it was in the shop, I had loaned it to a friend to carry while bow hunting for elk in Co. and when he returned I cleaned it in the shop and just carried the gun to the safe, but for a while I sure wished I had the .41, its not unuasul to find lots of things here on the farm in the yard but I would guess the wild hog was the most exciting, and now the wife looks in all directions b-4 heading to the garage. :D   JIM

And just how many .357 sized holes did you have to put in the flying bacon before it finally came to it's eternal rest?

Griz I used 5 until I was sure it was down and since ammo comes cheep to me I used the 6th one to make sure!!  All 5 were in the hog however 1 of them did hit a front lower leg bone breaking the legwhich let it go down allowing me the oppertunity to put # 4 and 5 into it while it was still.  was my hog to kill, never hunted them before, and wasnt hunting this one it just happened to be at the wrong place that morning when the wife went out and it got after her after rooting up the yard for grubs and eating the apples off of one of our apple trees that it could reach and the ones on the ground, we have several acres here and the ferrel hogs have been showing up as of late more frequently, had 3 in one of the front pastures a few weeks ago while I was on the tractor and no gun tried to catch one with the front end loader (no luck) more of a chase than actually trying to catch, then about a week later had abt. 18 of them come up to within 30 yds of my sons deer stand we were working on, we were both 16 feet in the air with tools and no gun all we did was hit the stand with a hammer and they ran off, will try to get a few more this if possible as we dont have any closed season on them here. :D    JIM

Shoot until the threat is nullified. Good thing you didn't need a 7-shot 686! Sounds like you've got the potential for year round pork around the old homestead. You might want to start packin' a .44 when out on the tractor from now on. It might just come in handy!

Griz:  I no longer own a 44 the largest handgun I own is the S&W 57 in 41mag, and as a rull I NEVER go anywhere without some kind of weapon, usually have a rifle for the coyotes and any unknown stray dogs chasing cattle but this year I have been caught without twice so far and will have to get a little better on the ball, but with all the food plots we have planted and the corn feeders on the place we havent had any problems on them as yet but this one did some damage in the yard digging up grubs in the lawn and eating the apples that had fallen to the ground and the ones he could reach. :D    JIM

Well, that .41's finner than a frog's hair. I'm told it will do anything a .44 can. Just keep your eyes open and let us know when another walkin' barbecue makes a poor decision like cuttin' across your property!
