I just traded for a 50 cal barrel for my encore.
I was wondering if anybody had any experience with either of the above?
I was also considering the Barnes line of bullets, any thoughts?
Nosler line?

thanks

I have heard good things about all three bullet manufacturers.   My only experience with PR bullets was punching paper.  I have not used Barnes or Nosler bullets in my muzzleloaders, yet.  I had easy access to Hornady bullets and just have not seen a reason to move away from them.

I installed a PR 25 ACP conversion breech plug in an NEF Huntsman because I did not like the factory setup.  Are you having a problem or dislike with the factory Encore breech plug?

Sorry OOT a few days. No, I have not evem shot the muzzleloader barrel yet but in doing research I ran on the website and it has peaked my curosity. Same as the Pioneer powder & different bullets.
Thinking about selling my encore rig and getting a Omega, might see if there is a conversion for it.

Any more input would be GREAT.........

The 25 conversion works great for my wife's NEF.  My Omega shot very well and clean without it.  As for the bullets, my Knight Disc XT flat out loves the x-tended range 180's (45 cal) and my Omega shot the 250 Dead Centers very well.  2 deer with the DC 250's at ARO 100 yds, 1 bang/flop, the other took about 3 steps and wobbled over.  Could not get it to shoot the 40/50's at all tho.  Had mixed results with the double duplexes.  Don't like mixed results while hunting.  Don't shoot the Vari-flame adapters!  Sometimes they go bang, sometimes they go pop!  If you really feel you must try them, PM me for some!
Alos, I like their RAT jag too!

The bullets work well (very well) up to about 1800-2000 fps depending on the gun -- heard of VERY few people getting them to hold groups over that.  Performance on game was excellent for me.  My current Omega won't shoot them and I wanted more speed so I don't shoot them anymore.  Price was getting steep too.

I love the 25 ACP conversion, though I drill my own now.

The DeadCenter bullets are excellent on game. 220, 260, and the 300grn have worked flawlessly for me.
