Home and Handi Happy
« on: August 06, 2009, 03:55:22 AM »
Got back from Nu Joisey Tuesday evening.........the world capitol of anti-gunism :o  Got up Wednesday, no wind.  Out came the Handis.  I shot the .30-06, .38, .357 & Max, 7mm-08, .22-250, .17HMR, .44 Mag, and .45-70.  All at the 300 yard gong.  All did well except the .38s, and I didn't take enough time to figure where they were hitting.  I amazed myself by hitting it twice in a row with the .44 mag offhand with the red dot and my bad right eye.  I'm happy.  I'm home in Handi Heaven.

Good thing the Joisey police didn't stop you. They would think you are gun running or one of those right wing troublemakers. ;D

You must have been there on business.  No one would to New Jersey or New York of their own free will!  Oh, forgot Illinois (being a handgunner, don't know how they are for rifles), and of course California is quickly making up time on New York.  I can't off hand think of any other states that I refuse to visit.  44 Man

I had to go because my 97 year old mom lives there with my sister and is failing rapidly.  I'm sure it was the last time I'll see her.  That's the only thing that could get me over there in that cluster.  She's in Midland Park, right in heart of the NY metropolitan mess.  There used to be some really lovely places in Joisey.  Most of them I couldn't recognize.  The place I killed my first deer is now suburban sprawl and industrial parks.  To give them a little credit, the rivers are cleaner now than when I was a kid.

Yesterday morning, a doe, two fawns and a yearling came out to welcome me home.  I got to enjoy them for about a half hour before they faded back into the woods.  Home is a good place to be.

Glad you made the trip safely Pete.   ;D

my 97 year old mom lives there with my sister

God love her!  Kathie just lost her mother at 94 last year.  We went to PA at least twice a year to visit.  We tried for a good 10 years to get her to move down here and live with us but she wouldn't hear of it.
