Hammer Extension

Is a hammer extension on an Encore
an issue like it can be on a Contender?

I buy the aluminum ones and have never had a misfire or any problems on the Encore or contenders. I may be just lucky but I know some have had problems.

Well the one I took off my Contender a stupid magnet sticks to :-\
I do not have a problem with my scoped Contenders reaching the hammer
but sure is a tight squeeze getting my thumb on it on my Encore.
Doubt that I could with gloves on.
Maybe when my hunting stock arrives I'll see if it would be comfortable
with some higher rings.

Hope this is OK. There is a fellow on e-bay that makes and sell the aluminum ones and they have a slot that the hammer slides through and is held in place by a allen set screw and comes with the allen wrench. He has them in black or natural finish,and are well made, he may also be the fellow that sells a black plastic  punch to remove barrel pin which is also very nice.

Deacon,

That sounds like the same extension I have. I've never had any problems with mine either, no misfires on any of my barrels. I use a brass punch and brass hammer on my pins, never makes any marks on mine.
