Everyone has their own way of doing things. Personally, I'd give it a good cleaning. Lube it lightly and then shoot it. For the first 20 rounds or so I'd clean the barrel every 5 shots or so. I'd shoot all jacketed bullets in it for the first 20-50 and then just shoot whatever I wanted to in it. I think an evening in front of the TV while cycling the action a couple hundred times will smooth up whatever will smooth up. After that I'd clean up the action again and call it good, unless you decide you want a professional action or trigger job.
