When talking about bead front sights, "width" and "bead size" don't refer to the same thing.
Bead-type front sight blades, whether Gold/Ivory/Fibre-Optic, are generally available in only two bead sizes, 1/16" (fine) or 3/32" (coarse), regardless of the sight blade height or sight blade base width.
Front sight blades of whatever height and/or bead size type/size are commonly available in three different base widths - a "wide" (W) base for mounting directly in barrels w/o a ramp, a "medium" (M) width for most ramp mounting, and a "narrow" for extremely narrow ramp mounting like in the Williams Shorty ramp.
Squared-off, Patridge-type front sight blades are the same except that they're usually a straight post as viewed for shooting, either plain/blued or with some sort of sighting aid like a vertical white stripe (XS) or square gold bead (Redfield/Marbles/NECG).
The type of front sight used in conjunction with a peep depends on the use intended for the rifle, also taking into consideration the shooter's eyesight and shooting conditions/terrain/climate.
I, personally, do best when/where I hunt (NOT target shoot) with a fiber-optic front - but YMMV, certainly.
I have found that Win 94's seem to require a front sight about 1/10" higher than the issue open sight front sight, for zeroing with a side-mounted receiver peep like the FP, and even higher if a higher peep like an XS is mounted.
If your Mod 94 is an AE/side-eject, the proper top-mount FP sits lower than the side-mount FP, allowing the use/zeroing with any front sight that's the same height as the issue front sight.
