i usually dont post unless i have something to ask or to help with a question but have really been thinking about some guns of my past some i didnt really care for but there are 2 that really pain me. you guys ever trade away a gun (or 2) that just pains you? when i first joined this forum i was asking about the topper deluxe classic that a bunch of you helped me get i ended up getting that gun and really liked it. however i just had to get a new gun so i traded said TDC and a remington 870 wingmaster with 2.75" chambers and i got a winchester 1300 and hated it took it to a gun show and traded it for an .410/.45 survivor which is nice but not nearly as nice as my 870 or my TDC i now have a camo turkey with the fixed full choke and i really like that one but everyonce in awhile i think about those 2 guns.

You bet! I think we all have been there a time or two. That's how I got back into the Pardner's.
Back in 2004 I bought a brand new 870 Junior 20ga. I kept it until Feb. of 2005 and never fired it. Every time I would uncase it or handle it, I hated it more and more. Took it to Gander and sold it back to them for a large loss and bought a Pardner 12ga combo, Tracker II/12ga Mod., both 24" barrels. I got HAPPY and have been that way ever since. Over the last 4 years I have purchased and traded off 45-70, Tracker II 12ga and a 243 Youth barrel. I have second-guessed every one of them a time or two. My biggest regret is not hanging on to the first Pardner I ever purchased, way back in the early 80's. It would have been nice to pass that along to my son or grandsons.

Don't worry, your NORMAL. You do know, of course, there is no cure for your condition. It may go into remission from time to time, but there is no cure. It called Handiholicism. Your only hope of leading a normal life, thereafter, is to collect more Handis and Pardner.

Many MANY times really. In my life I've owned by a VERY conservative estimate over 400 firearms. The vast majority got traded off to a dealer or some other individual for some other that I felt I wanted more at the moment. Many of them I really don't miss but some of them I'm still shaking my head and wondering what the heck I was thinking at the time.

There are at least 30-40 maybe a few more I seriously regret and wish I could call back again. Most of the rest I guess I'm glad I had the chance to see and hold and use for awhile but really don't miss all that much. Some of them I have to shake my head and ask what the heck I ever got them for to begin with. Those for sure I don't miss.

I think everybody has regreted doing that more than once. I have kept most of mine but need to sell some now I know I won,t regret. Lot of them sets for a few years and then I get the bug to shoot them. I hate to sell, knowing I will miss them later.

Traded the first gun I ever owned. 20 gauge single shot. The action break was actuated by pulling back the trigger guard.

traded it to get the money to buy an 870 Wingmaster.

wish I still had the 20 gauge.

iam right there with ya bill in fact i bought one of the ones i sold back from you because i hated trading it, oh well we all have those thoughts hahahaha i buy some as you say so i can play with them a while and then on to different ones ,

Most every gun owner I've ever known (myself included) has bought and/or sold guns he/she wished they hadn't bought/sold.

It's part of gun ownership I guess. I sold a Remington 870 Wingmaster that was my first new shotgun I had ever purchased and have regretted it ever since.

But, you can't change the past, just hopefully learn by it.

I foolishly got rid of a very nice 16 ga. double barrel Ithaca.

I regret wasting money on an encore that was a gift from my wife for my 40th birthday. I never intentionaly got rid of one ,but my ex pawned my first gun , a deluxe model topper 192 20ga. Breaks my heart to this day. If anybody out there picked up that gun from pawn shop in Colorado Springs in 88 I'd love to get it back.

Well, let's see:

Do I regret selling/trading off a nice U.S. marked WWII Ithaca M1911 for $60, or an 'as new' Colt AR-15 SP-1 for $150, etc., etc., etc.

Those were 70's trades. Remember trading in a nice Ruger Mini14 for $220 (80's).

I think I finally learned my lesson about year 2000 or so, after 30 yrs of foolishness.

I sure do. I traded a Ruger in 250-3000. Sure did kill a lot of woodchucks with it. Traded it for a 257 Roberts. I hated that gun. I sold that and all the loading supplies i had for it to a guy i worked with. Sure don't miss that one. Wish i had my 250 back.

I have no problem selling or trading current production guns. There are plenty of guns that I have moved along that there is a good chance I will not see another with out looking hard.

Winchester 1894 SRC, 32spl from the Nez Perce in Oregon, made in 1912 IIRC, with 491 bone and pearl inlays

And a Smith 29-2 4" that could read my mind where I wanted the bullet to go!

My biggest regret is the pump action IMI Timberwolf Carbine in 44 magnum I had. I love 44 magnum carbines, and this one had more character than any out there then or now. It had a built in weaver rail, adjustable shoulder stock and was light and handy. Now they don't make them anymore!! Plus used ones go for a real premium on the internet now.

Mostly handguns...Colt Diamondback(went to a friend getting out of the USAF and needed a good handgun to be a city cop at home),S&W model 28 (New baby in house needed shoes...she is 30 now and asked me for a few bucks at the mall recently to buy some shoes...she has more shoes than that Marcos woman)...Browning Hi Power(needed money to fix a sports car my wife told me not to buy)...two M1 carbines"Inlands"(thought the money offered was good),BERSA .380 (Friends wife needed pistol that locked because someone stopped at their house one day by mistake looking for another person)

I usually don't trade or sell my guns, but only lately in my later years did I get to urge to trade a few.

My biggest regret was a Chinese SKS paratrooper, all matching numbers new condition, that I really liked and used it on the ranch many times, and enjoyed the compactness and accuracy of that little rifle.

I traded it away for a rifle that I didn't keep long, and didn't like all that much, and then went out and bought another SKS, and wasn't satisfied with that one, and sold it, and then I found that I couldn't get along without one, and went out and bought probably one that is nowhere near the shape of the last two, but I've still got that one, and vowed I wouldn't sell it.

If it wasn't for the Handi's I'd probably still be buying and selling SKS's.

I traded away an old m 1 garand. it was a shooter with a hodge-podge of parts but is was a nice rifle. I got a very nice ruger 357 and a lot of cash in the deal. I wasn't ripped off, but I still wish I woulda held on to the old nazi killer.

When I look over the previous posts at some of the firearms you all gave away, I feel better about myself
