Mklll/6 questions

Been wanting a .22 pistol of late for general woods walking and have a source for a MKlll/6" pretty reasonable. ($259 new) A. is this a good price (it would seem so) and is there anything else I should know about these things? My only pistol experience is with cap and ball although I have several long cartridge guns. Also B. how are these pistols for digesting various and cheapo ammo? I ask because I have a Rem 597 rifle and had to go through a process of elimation to find rounds it likes. I realize those have a reputation for being a bit difficult but have mine figured out for the most part... A fishing bud from years back had a Ruger .22 pistol of this type and I don't think he was terribly kind to it but IIRC it always worked reliably.

I don't plan on scoping it or anything.

MKl, ll, or lll's are great guns. I have a Mkll and shoot bulk Federal Ammo almost exclusively, with no issues. The price sounds good and they are very accurate, long lasting handguns.

My MK II is dirt reliable,Of course for best shooting it has prefrences but it shoots anything pretty well that I've put thru it, It is plenty squil and rabbit deadly with REM or Fed bulk and will shoot several thousand of thease before getting dirty enuff to jam. 8)

I have a MK II 6" that eats any brand well but absolutely loves Remington Golden bullets.    Never had a hiccup and it does a number on the squirrels and water moccasins in my area.

That's a good buy for a new one.  does it have standard or target sites?  At that price I'm guessing that it is blued.

I have a Mk III 5.5" BB with a Millet SG1.  I love it.  It shoots CCI SV very very well.  I can hit a golf ball @ 25 yards nearly every time, and I'm not what you would call a great pistol shooter.

I have a MKIII , really like it.  I shoot bulk Fed HPS , it does well , though I've never really tried to find the "perfect" ammo for it.  As for the price , thats about the going rate for a 5 1/2 " blued.....maybe a few bucks less...for my area.  (Western Pa ) I believe I paid around 270 , without tax or fees , a year ago for mine.  regards.........irold
