I've always been a Remington fan, and here's a few i've hunted with for many years. They have put a lot of meat in my freezer..
This is my custom 700, chambered in .338-06. I've harvested everything from moose, brown bear, caribou on down with it. It's been in my hands many a time as i crawled through the alders on brown bear hunts,
and has worked very well on putting moose meat in my freezer too.
When i was a kid, i grew up with my dad's Remington double 12 in my hands, it was made in 1905. As an adult, it was pretty beat up, and in need of a LOT of repairs... So, i got it from my dad, and fixed it up to better than new, so i could continue to hunt with it.
Another Remington i've always really liked was the 541-S's. The problem is, they only came in RH and i'm left handed. So, i converted one to left hand, and put it in a std. Rem. sporter walnut stock. The only bad part about these 22's, are the clips. I wish Rem. would have spent some money on making "steel" clips for this series of rifles.
For a time, i was shooting Remingtons 5mm Rem. mag. and found it to be a GREAT round! But, it had the same problem as the above above rifle, as in that they were RH. So, i also converted one of them to LH.
Anyway, that's a few of my fav. Rem's. that i own and have put a lot of miles on!
