Recoil buffer add on for the new Mini-14?

I like to use recoil buffers where possible, confused on something with the new version of the Mini-14 tactical.  The owner's manual schematic shows an insert part called a buffer bushing which goes into the face of the receiver and holds the recoil spring in place, did the older mini-14's have this or was that part of the receiver solid?  I checked the limited schematics on Gun Parts Corp. and it did not show anything like this part, but I assumed it was an image of the older model rifle.  The Ruger catalog says "a patented recoil buffer which protects the scope from damage or shifting the point of impact", etc.

Should I get the synthetic recoil buffer for my rifle from Buffer Tech, or does that "buffer bushing" do the job?  I put 55 rounds through it the the other day, did some bore cleaning as part of the break in, fun rifle to shoot and showing some good accuracy too in the break in and ammo discovery period.  Currently using the open sites, may mount a scope later.

The set up was the same in the older Mini's.

The old Std Mini's op-rod would act as a tuning fork and shred scopes----the Ranch model fixed that--added scope mounting---redirected ejection and went to a mechanical ejector instead of a spring loaded one.

Not big fan of any aftermarket buffers----just a gimmick that adversely affects function.
