NEW to me 357 max 10" bbl-Pic added 150 everything but scope from Gunbroker

 Just bought a 10" bull bbl 357 max for my contender. Been waiting forever to get a bbl for H&R to convert to same. Had to try out
this cartridge. Have dies, cases,bullets,powder,brass,primers etc for this round. Anyone who has tried same, shoots same, & loads
 this round would appreciate any comments or recommendations for this. Thanks  Fred

Exactly what are you wanting to do with the barrel?  Hunt, target shoot, long range, silhouettes?  This is a versatile chambering with a few quirks.  When I had one I hunted with the Hornady 180 SSP bullet and H110.  It was a fine deer and caribou bullet to around 150 yards out of a 10" Contender.  A lot of silhouette folks liked the 180 FN bullets over H110 and 1680.

Great cartridge!  Never was popular in a revolver, but it's a dandy in the Contender.  Probably one of the most overlooked and underrated cartridges out there.  Plus, you get to shoot 38's, and 357 Mag's as well, just keep the chamber clean.

Lil Gun powder is great in the Max. Lower pressure and great speed. Good luck and let us know how the shooting session goes.

Here is all I know from the web. I recently got an MGM 357 max encore barrel. I have worked up loads for N 110, 2400, aa 1680 and imr 4227--all with Remington 180gr. JHP.  http://armsandammo.com/prodpage.cfm?CategoryID=34
 So far in my 12.5 in. barrel(with brake) the N110 has been most accurate. I shot a 3 shot 1 1/2 inch group yesterday-bench with bipod and sandbag under grip at a laser measured 150 yards.  (picture of my grip and fore end-- http://www.tonysforendsandgrips.com/showcase.htm  )

 Part of that is my reading the 5-10 mph crosswind and shooting at the right time and the rest was the gun and load. Very impressive round.  I have loaded but not tested the xtp's also.

I've yet to get a hold of  Max I do have the Herret in 357 and like it just fine
But If and when I get a Max I'll get rid of the Herret
When I fired the max I fell in Like and have wanted one since
I think its the best straight wall for the Contender
