Better 44 mag
« on: August 20, 2009, 12:40:42 PM »
Shot mine today. It has a Leupold 2-7 LRD. I shot 10 rounds to get em closer to the center. Shot 5 with the 1st dot under the crosshairs at 75 yds. Probably not the ideal scope for this rifle but wanted to try it thinking it would fit on another rifle. Was thinking about (just for fun) if I could find where the dots hit with a certain load for like 100, 150, and 200 yds. But 2-7 may be limited magnification. Worth a try. Definately shot it better than open sights. These were Win White Box that we shot the other day with buddys open sights. I think the couple XTPs I loaded when I first got the rifle shot better. Time to change the dies. The dot fit nice on the center circle of this target at 75yds. Someone else could prob. shoot it better. Probably need Viagra before toooo much longer.

Good shooting and I think you made a fine choice in a scope!!

Leupold 2x7 VXI, VXII and VARI X is my all time favorite size and line scope. I have one on most of my handis!!! If they where a bit longer, I would have them on ALL my scoped rifles!!!

Nice shooting too. It is definately minute of coyote, bear, deer, or whatever else. It can only get better from now on.

Is the center dot 1"?
