Wolf Primers
« on: November 04, 2009, 02:12:57 AM »

I ordered  some wolf primers. They are suppose to get here tomorrow. I  have read both good and bad reports on here about wolf. But since I can not find large rifle primers any where else, of any kind I bought these.
I have a few CCI left and will keep these for hunting , until I see how the wolf work out.

I got Wolf small rifle primers for the same reason you got large rifle primers. A little trepidation, but you got to do what you you got to do.

I've never used them before but have 5000 on the way from Powder Valley. They promised to ship last Friday so perhaps I'll get them today or tomorrow. I split my order between SR, LP and LPM. I need some SP and SPM but no one seems to have any in stock. I even contacted Wolf about it and they couldn't tell me anyone who had them in stock.

I use Wolf LPM in my .44 Mag. and they all go bang in my Puma, DW H44, Rugher SBH. Only shot a couple hundred so far. I also use their SPM for my .357, but haven't shot any yet. I've noticed that they are a little harder to seat than the CCI primers I had used previously. I haven't gotten around to measuring them yet so I don't know if the extra pressure needed to seat them is because of the diameter or the alloy of the cup, or ? Perhaps it's from the bare cups, not nickle plated.

I started using their small rifle mag primers with no problems, so far.

also just received large rifle, and small rifle primers within the last week from Wideners.
