Last Chance Buck!!!(Pics)
« on: December 05, 2009, 12:13:32 PM »
Today was the last day of our 2 week buck gun season. I hunt in Boone Co. WV. in an area that is steep, brushy, and rugged. This area doesn't  contain a lot of deer, hunted all last week and seen 7 does and 1 spike. I had to work all this week so today was my last day for buck season. Got up early this morning to find our first snow fall this year. Arrived where I was going to hunt and 2" of fresh snow made the climb up the steep ridge very slippery. After sitting with my back to a tree watching an area deer have been coming to bed down with no luck with snow still falling I was wet and cold. I decided to still hunt and try to warm up a bit. Over a very steep incline I spotted 4 does and a spike feeding and crossed the point in front of me. A little later I could here another deer moving my direction. After a bit this 6pt. came into view. The 14" MGM 357Max. did its job. No monster but it made my day!!!!!

David,

Looks like your sticking with the hunt even in less than Ideal conditions has paid off nicely.  Nothing at all wrong with a nice buck like that, especially when taken with a handgun.  So congradulations!

But more impressively Im glad to see you take those "eye candy" TC's out in the woods and use'em.

Very Nice, Im not a hunter, but am interested in 357 ballistics.
In and out shot or were you able to retrieve the bullet?
Be interesting to see how much it deformed, with corresponding bullet design and load data.
