let me answer your questions YES I'll take all the mentioned programs I served this country for 22 yrs. in the military. I have earned my retirement at the same time i payed s.s taxes so I earned that also. I'll take the medicare and medicaid because the lying bast#%&* reneged on the promise of medical care for me and my wife for life and now I'm stuck with a plan they give to those that made no provisions to care for them self. Oh and by the way because I'm retired military i get to pay my own disability to myself, yep they take it from my retirement , give it to V.A. who sends it to me.The only reason s.s. has a funding problem is the thief's stole it all instead of keeping it to pay back to the contributors. now it is my turn to ask you a question, jonnyc..What have you done for your country lately?

When are some of these liberals going to get it.  You can't trust Big Government to do anything right.  Social Security was solvent and gave retirees enough money to live on.  My late grandparents survived on Social Security back in the 60's and 70's.  Then since SS had plenty of money in the fund, they started Medicare and Medicaid.  Then they borrowed from it to finance other programs.  Then it was out of money and they had to raise the rates and now it is not enough to retire on.  Same with the Transportation Department.  They had a huge surplus, but they borrowed the earmarked gasoline tax to fund other programs and let our infrastructure go to pot.  Any big bureaucracy wastes tons of money.  Same with WIC (women, infants, and children).  WIC is to provide milk, cereal, and cheese to poor women with children.  It cost $1.5 billion in Federal money to supply 1.5 million women.  That is $1,000,000 for each woman in the program and they only get about $100 or so in milk and cheese money.  The rest is wasted on the bureaucracy.  On and on it goes, more tax, more programs, less and less freedom.

$1.5 billion split amoung 1.5 million people equals $1,000 per person, not $1,000,000.  Not that I disagree with your argument, but let's keep things accurate.

Maybe it was $15 billion.  My congressman said it was $1,000,000 per person.  He said Federal spending was out of control.
