I saw a sample of the Winchester M1895 chambered for 7.62x54 Russian at a gun show (or was it a weapons museum?) several years ago.
As I recall, it was pretty beat up, what with having seen WWI trench warfare, and then soldiered on thru late WWII.
There were some minor cyrillic markings added by the Russians, I think, and a bridge device that permitted stripper clip loading of Moisin-Nagant 5-round clips. Other than that, it looked like a full-stocked M1895 musket, with long forearm wood and bayonet mount.
I remember seeing last year a web page some guy posted showing photos of his Russian M1895 Winchester too. Try a search using 1895 Winchester Russian, or some such combination.
