I've never had it happen to me and know of anyone else it has happened to ...but I still keep this pretty mug clear of the muzzle when loading. I would think it's more likley to happen with real BP and a flintlock type or precussion channel than most of the modern ignition sources it is still one of the don't does of MLing though.Kurt

Never had it happen.  I'm not a clean freak either.  I've shot buckets of Goex and "modern Alternatives" too, and never had a problem.  I'm always aware of the possibility, and I guess I make sure "the fire is out" befoe I reload.  Oh, by the way, I never needed a quick second hunting shot with a muzzleloader.......lucky....I guess....maybe.

I have never heard of it happening and have been using ML's for almost 40 years. I do teach ML'ing in hunter safety and we always teach to keep the muzzle away from you just in case and to never load from a large container of powder. None of my fellow instructors have ever heard of it happening either but we teach the safe way....<><....:)
