Went to the range today
« on: August 22, 2009, 04:51:40 PM »

I got my son a new Glock 23 for his 21st birthday and we took it to the range today for the first time. We fired a variety of ammo. Started with 100 rounds of Winchester white box. Next we tried 50 rounds of locally re manufactured 180 grain TMJ,  then finished up with 50 rounds of American Eagle. Proud to say 200 rounds and not the first bobble. All the empties were also tossed in a nice neat pile just over the right shoulder. Another example of Glock perfection.

Good choice of pistols, Rusty! Sounds like it performed as expected. I shoot my Glocks a lot. They are great pistols. Perfect? NOOOOOOOOO! They can be made much better with the addition of a few aftermarket parts.

I don't know Savage, it did seem pretty good to me right out of the box. If I were going to carry it for a CCW piece I think I might want the night sights, but other than that it does pretty good as it. I'm an old S&W revolver man myself so the trigger would take some getting used to, but if I could get past that I'd be OK.
