« on: August 25, 2009, 09:16:11 AM »
I put a busnell trophy scope on my heritage that my wife bought me for CHRISTmas.Do you think this scope will hold up over time shooting 100grains of T7 pellets. So far its working great,I am still trying to get use to the hammer ext.

The trophy is a great scope. I have one on my 45-70 Handi. It has seen hundreds of rounds without any signs of breakage. The only thing I don't like, is the one I have, really only has about 3 1/2" of eye relief. I get touched on the brow sometimes. It has never drew blood but I it reminds me it's there. I may get one of the new models with an advertised 5" of eye relief.

So shoot away, that scope is up to the task.

Nick :)

thanks Nick.It wasn't the most $ scope,I got all nikons and my wife bought me the busnell trophy for CHRISTmas. It seems to be working just fine now.

I have not gotten your MU plug yet,I know I am one of the VERY few,but I like the orange primer carriers.Maybe in time I will switch,it does how ever look like a very good breech plug.A job well done by you.

Steve.

I had one in something like 1.75-5 power on a 12 slug gun.  It worked fine after over 100 rounds over a two year period.  At the time that I got rid of the slug gun, the scope was still working fine.  I experienced greater recoil from that slug gun than my Huntsman so I think you will be in good shape.
