I would check with www.blackhorn209.com the container says don't use 209 Muzzle loading primers use regular shotgun primers also says not recommended for sidelock or #11 precussion or musket caps. I would think the easy answer is no... do not use with 25acp ignition as I think it's even hotter than 209 ML primers. Kurt

If you are shooting BH in a sidekick or huntsman. I would say buy one of my breech plugs and use ANY 209 primer. I use the Win T-7 primer with 85 gr of BH 209 and it goes bang every time with no hang fire at all.

I use to use T-7 powder until busta let me try his BH 209 powder. I'll never go back to anything else.

What is the largest load recommended in BH209 and approximate velocities??  Just wondering how the BH209 compares to T7 loads??  Does it run hotter??

THANKS!

I'm not sure on the max load. But I don't see myself going beyond 100 gr. In fact, I probably, will stay right at 85gr. It has pretty stout recoil with the 300 gr SST's I shoot. The primers ( after firing) will basicly fall out, if ya tip the breech back.

I hope that helps
Nick :)

Using the .25 ACP breech plug with CCI small rifle primers, and BH209 caused hang fires for me in my Huntsman.

Using Nick's MU breech plug, I was able to use the same small rifle primers in the Vari-flame adapters to ignite BH209.  I was also able to use Win 777 209 primer, Rem Kleenbore ML 209 primer and Rem 209 .410 primer.  I did all of this on 80+ degree F so it may behave differently when it is really cold.

I prefer the MU breech plug over the .25 ACP breech plug.  Yes, it's that good.

From the load data provided by both companies, T7 FFFg and BH209 seem to have very similar velocities.
