Remington Sportsman 58 shell latch question
« on: August 27, 2009, 09:05:17 AM »
Just bought  58 for a very nominal fee, only thing is, the left sid shell latch has been tinkered with by someone with a pair of needle nose. Trying to find shell latch for this gun is like finding a needle in a haystack. Just wondering if this gun and the 870 have interchangeable latches before I order one. If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

You might give GunPartsCorp a call and ask them.. Also perhaps Remington customer service??? Though I've only had so-so luck with them. My parts catalog isn't here or one could look and see if the parts numbers are the same? Also below I've listed a link to the Remington website and the page where they list suggestions for service for older guns.. I've had dealings with Bob's Gunshop is RoyalOak Arkansas and they have good service..
