30-30 question??
« on: September 01, 2009, 02:07:35 PM »
went to the range today and shot some fed. 125gr. hollow points. i really like how they shot, every thing inside a 1 inch circle at 100 yards. but does anyone think this is a good bullet for deer hunting??? any thoughts on this would help alot. we have smallest deer around here maybe 110-150 pds.

It will work fine for your deer.  Out to 100 yards or so the trajectory of the 125HP is just fine.  I used that bullet once in a .30 Herrett almost 30 years ago, and it worked great with good expansion and penetration at 75 yards.  Modern versions should be even better.
