You forgot the .220 Swift.  It is the most superior round by far.

I voted for the .222, because it's the close to the .223 which is my most favorit varmint round!

I like my Ruger Mark II Target model .22lr w/ Red Dot scope & Winchester Power Points for shorter distance ground squirrel work.  Then a .223 T/C Contender or Ruger Compact 16.5" brl. rifle for everything else!

Vote was 22Mag because I get a lot of 50-70 yard shots around here - I love that little cartridge - and all others.

.243 ... 7mm-08 ... 270   ALL   / Need selection to fit your target and your distance, and there's a lot of overlaping in cartridges for each need - choices make it fun. Never did shoot a Woodchuck with my 45-70 LOL.

Noise is a factor right around where I live now - things changed, the 220 Swift bullet is loud but diburses on impact -  22-250 same / light wt bullets with high V.

I'm looking at a new Encore 15" in .243 right now ... would be 7mm-08 if I were after the big stuff.

:D Hey there chuck hunters,

Well, there seems to be a lot of folk liking the 223, which is Ok as it is a fine round.

However, even though I have had a couple of the 223s I have never had more fun then with the 22-250 and a good supply of Rock Chucks.

I expect the conditions are a bit different out here in our scab lands, but I have had the oppertunity to set up in one place and shoot chucks from up close and personal to way out yonder. If you are ever given an oppertunity such as that, you just may want a bit more powder to help cover that last hundred yards.

Those were the days. I liked my 223s but I miss that #1 in 22-250!

Keep em coming!

.219 Donaldson Wasp!!!! for wood chucks followed by22-250.  Haven't got to use the .223 on them yet!

.219 Donaldson Wasp, .218 Mashburn Bee, .22K Hornet and  22-250 for Rock chucks.  I have shot them with 404 Express and 50 BMG, very unimpressive.
