Bushnell Elite or Bushnell Trophy handgun scope?
« on: February 16, 2010, 01:36:31 PM »
I'm trying to decide which.  I will be putting this on Super Blackhawk Hunter. One issue is that I have long arms and sometimes have trouble with eye relief on pistol scopes.  This problem is exacerbated by the fact that the Hunter scope rings attach to the barrel, putting the scope several inches further away from my eye than say a Super Redhawk.  I returned a Weaver variable because it was of no use beyond 4x.  I would appreciate any input on these two scopes.

You won't have any problem with eye relief on a Trophy, I put one on my contender, way too long for me compared to my TC scope.
Can't speak for the Elite, but I would guess its the same. The Trophy is like 18 -20 inches.

In fact I have a trophy 2-6 thats about 8 months old, like brand new.
Listed here in optics for sale.

I have never heard a bad thing about the Trophy model, but prefer the Elites. They do cost more but they are stronger and also have the Rainguard feature. I believe the eye relief is the same on both models.

This is from E.A. Browns site comparing the two scopes. They used to have a diagram showing the internal differences but I can't find it now.

"Elite 3200 vs. Trophy - Coated, sealed, fogproof optics are featured in both. But the Elite 3200 features RainGuard® anti-fog multicoating with an extra lens to improve resolution, color correction, and minimize reflection. E3200 reticle assembly and inner tube surfaces are black anti-reflection coated. And, E3200s have beefed up internal construction. "

You can trust the repeatability of the elevation clicks on the Elite more than the Trophy. But if you are going to sight it in for one distance and leave it there, then you will not have a problem with the Trophy.

The Trophy models have served me well.  I have 3 and have had not issues.  They hold their zero and eye relief is not an issue either.

Hey everyone:

What is a good "RedDot" scope for a 44 Mag, and/or a Holographic sight with a red dot ?

Thanks,

I have ended up with a Docter-sight.

Small, low weight and have been with me a lot of years in bad/good weather, crawling in mud and sand, and still work fine  ;)
