cutting down a BP barrel
« on: August 29, 2009, 03:07:40 PM »
Short of taking it to a gunsmith  (this is a low dollar youth gun project)
What is the best way to cut down a BP barrel ?
Just cut it with a hacksaw, or use the metal chop saw ?
The metal chop saw may heat it up to much?

Do I need to "blue" the end ?

Thanks,

Slack

You'll want to put a good crown on it when you're done, see the links in the FAQs on it, I'd reblue muzzle when you're done, Brownell's  OXPHO-BLUE creme is great stuff for touch up.  ;)
