Like the title says, I am a newb to the Grey Beard forums, but not new to NEF/H&R shotguns. The first gun that I ever got was a NEF 20 ga. pardner single shot for my eighth birthday. Killd many of squirrels, bunnies, and even a couple of the family chickens with it. After my parents got divorced, my Dad pawned the shotgun, when bills got tight. Ever since then, I have been a gun freak. Ever since then, I have wanted a replacement for my first gun. I finally got one the other day. For $60.00 I got a 20 ga. pardner that had been wrapped in camo duct tape, then the tape was removed in favor of some heat shrink camo wrap. After some goo gone, and some elbow grease, she shines like new. Only a hand full of shells through her by her previous owner, and not a nick, or mar one in the stock. Manufactured in 2001, but looks like brand new again. I am sure I will have a ton of ?'s for yall Pics soon
I love my family first, but my guns and hunting are a damn close second

Congratulations Van. It's good to revisit our childhood from time to time. A 20 ga. H&R is a timeless tool. No bells, no whistles, just plain get the job done. That's the way with all H&R's.

If you got questions you'll find answers here. Read the FAQ's when you get a chance, there's a lot covered there.

  Welcome to the fire.

Welcome ! My second wife pawned my 1st 20ga when we split up and I have replaced it,as well as her. Wealth of knowledge and comradery here. Post up some pics of that gun if you get a chance.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

welcome,  don't be afraid to ask any questions everyone here is very kind, and knowledgable.   My first firearm was a 20ga pardner I got for Christmas when I was 11.  My dad hid it and made me wait till afternoon to open it.  Kinda like that Christmas Story movie.  I've never found another shot gun that I enjoy shooting or carrying as much as that one.

Welcome, I've got a little 22 inch 20 ga. modified I love.  Light, fast swinging and excellent for grouse and bunnies when the brush is thick.  Oh, by the way, mine is very good with slugs also.  Stick around, you'll like it here. ;)
