When I lived in Steamboat Springs Colorado, I knew a guy who had killed a buffalo with a custom made .54 Hawken flintlock.
I am pretty sure he used round ball, we went shooting the rifle once, it was very accurate, and all he shot on that day was round ball. That is the only flintlock I have ever fired.
He said that buffalo weighed 1,100 pounds.
Aim small don't miss.

Applaud their using traditional muzzies on the hunt... and doing a fine job getting it on tape.   Would have been 5 stars if they had lost the camo and gone all the way traditional.
Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

don't know if any used muzzlers or not but, last years buffalo arms catalog had a series called great hunts of the american outback or something similar to that. was from a series that was on outdoor channel. tried to order but no longer available. had outdoor channel number to see if still available but lost it. according to ad in catalog it was authentic as they could make it. horses and wagons and camping in teepees and such. hunted buffs and sheep and everything else as near as i could tell. now that you've reminded me will see if i can find the number again. would really like to have something like that. good-night neighbors, bubba.
