New to me Contender,first range day

Im damm impressed !!
Bought this pistol with barrels used,excellent condition and Im loving it.
targets shot @ 75 yards because that was all I could see clearly using the scopes  I had.
357 mag, 158 grain factory. 5 shot groups  7/8 inch
110 grain bullets printed out better @ 5/8'ths. Both useing a 4X scope.
The 22  didnt shoot so well, probably due to the 2x scope mounted on that barrel,, that was more like 2.5 inch.
Either way, Im pleased as punch.. The 357 shoots like a pussy cat, hardly any recoil.
I need more scope for these old eyes,, then the fun will start.

Hi, my name is Rob, and welcome to Contenderholics Anonymous (CA).

Part of the 12 step process to recovery will include owning at least one of everything ever made in a 10, 12 or 14" barrel. You'll have another frame or two by the time that's done. Maybe a stainless, or even an Armor Alloy just because. Then you'll start looking at wildcats, custom barrels, some fancy wood ... you'll have a collection of scopes by then too. You might even buy up some Type 1 octagonals, not to shoot, but to stick on that unmodified Gen 1 with herrett grips; maybe a few TCA limited run barrels. Ed will know you by first name, and you'll understand why certain names are asterisk'd out on the forums.

And that's not even mentioning long gun options ...  

I rode the magic carpet up and down again, and have one frame, Ol' Georgia Jim's custom wood, and two barrels: .32 H&R and a .357 Max. I'm not a quitter.

    Now you need a scope, just one? lol. Yes, the Ultimate Hunting Handgun is impressive. Wait until you reload and pour lead bullets for them! I just don't give them names yet.

     Photo shows rifle scope mounted atop a Contender, this is a great option for .22 lr.  I have a Weaver V-16 that focuses from 20 ft(handy on indoor ranges) to Way beyond the distance of a 22.

Thanks for everyone replies, yeah I can see where this could be addicting.
Im in the process of selling some of the TC stuff I bought as a package deal, that I dont need for stuff that i think I DO need.
Wifeys already  giving me the "eye" because I told her." This stuff is everything I need"
The way I look at it, TC stuff is cheaper then a girlfriend and I can sell it when I get tired of it?

     It's really not expensive, not like buying a Harley that you garage 6 months out of the year.  You'll figure out what your favorite configuration in Contender is too.  I use easy-open,  80s vintage pistols.  After building a few 100 meter pistols, I went to the 7mmTCU. It shoots to 250 meters with the right bullet( with jacketed, 300 meters with incredible accuracy). They don't cost me anything when they're in the reloading room, unlike a girlfriend. Any other handgun starts at a much higher price, for what you get. 
     The TCs are really collectable.

I'm another TC addict and they are definitely addictive.  Mine started when a friend let me try his 30-30 in a 10" barrel at the range.  My 1st shot was center bullseye at 25yds.  We moved the target to 50yds and my 2nd shot was 1" above bullseye.  I gave him back his pistol and said that it was pretty good; went home and started looking for one of my own.  Got one at a pawn shop in 357max, for a great price, because the shop owner said they don't make that bullet anymore, I already had a DW in 357max and enough reloading supplies for a long spell.  The max shoots as well as the 30-30 did, but I've added a 30-30 in both pistol 14" and rifle in 22".  All are tack drivers.  Welcome to the world of Contender.

It's disgusting aint' it!  I can shoot better with my Contender pistol than I can with any of my rifles!  I started out with a 14" 30-30.  Now I have a 22lr, 7.62x39, 357 Herrett, 7mm TCU, 357 Max, 270 REN, 45-70, and probably a few others that I can't remember.
