Armstrong At Fort Fisher
« on: September 04, 2009, 05:37:51 AM »
Does anyone have any information on the Armstrong that was at Ft Fisher NC during the Civil War. I know it is now at West Point. I was hoping someone out there had some better pics of it in its current location. Also do any on the cannon historians (Cannnonman,Seacoast Guys) know why this has not been returned to the Ft.  It seems that they would have followed suit like they did with the Widow Blakely.  Seems ashamed that such a odd and amazing piece from the description would be on public display. If anyone has any drawings pics or info please post thanks

Adam

Well I am about to be one of those people that responds to himself. I just found this info about it coming home to Ft Fisher.  But it was only to come home for a couple months then go back. I do not remember it being there.  I also found a pic of a similar gun may be it. The Pic is not titled
