Is the new 1886 winchester stout?

I'd like to reload with something as powerful as the Winchester supreme. Will the Japanese 1886 handle the Marlin loads? This is one of the most accurate guns I've ever owned, I don't want a kaboom! If you have any favorite loads let me know. :D

Yes they are strong. I use 55 gr. H-4895 and 400 gr. Speer.
I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

:D   Just as Rick stated, the Miroku '86 is extremely strong. It will handle any load that the Marlin'95 can and then some. Case capacity is the only consideration when loading the 45-70 for use in the Winchester 1886.
I get my kicks from an 1886.

Are you guy using the standard buckhorn sights, or have you added the reciever /tang sights?

I have removed barrel mounted sight and replaced it with a Williams FP-71 that fits into the two drilled and tapped holes on the side of the reciever.  That combination works well for me.  Better than the open sights, but that is what I learned on years ago.

Same here. I have '86s with various sights, but favor the Lyman 66WB and Williams 71 on the newer guns. Tang sights just don't work for me in field situations.
