My son's first deer!!
« on: September 26, 2009, 07:14:22 PM »
I've been watching deer in this field for over a week. None of the big bucks I have been watching showed up, but a trophy just the same. He was about 50 yards away and Jimbo made a perfect double lung shot!!! After the shot he ran and I seen him zig zag a bit and I was sure he was hit!! We couldn't find blood at first. But when we did it was easy to follow. He went about 80 yards. I'm not sure who was more excited him or me!!! I couldn't be more proud!!!!!

Congratulations. The first deer is always a trophy. I vividly remember my first. I have taken better scoring ones since, but none better.

I am real happy for you both.  Like the other guys said, I have memories (and pics) of both of my boys early deer etc....  It is really worth it to be able to be a part of that.  Congratulations.

Awesome deer Jimmie.  And dad, thanks for helping to "pass it on".
My 8y/o daughter has been practicing all summer, she is all excited about taking her first deer this year.  Got plenty of game Cam pictures so she has "the one" picked out.  We can't wait for the early morning walk to the back pasture the last weekend of OCT (youth weekend here in TX).
