Sad family issue
« on: September 10, 2009, 07:27:39 AM »
One of my relatives died a few weeks back in his early 60s. Cancer. His father, who was in his 90s, took it very hard seeing his son die before him. The old man just died. His son's death seems to have taken a lot of his own will to live away.

I have seen this many times with husbands and wives also. Even old dogs sometimes will grieve themselves to death when the master dies. It is something that has happened since the beginning of time.

My wfe was a hospice nurse for years (I don't know how she did it) and she saw the same thing so many times.
It's not unusual for someone to pass when a close relative dies.
Definatley sad, but sometimes they just give up.

Sorry for your lose.

My dad died, took my mom a year to will her self to death. I assume if one does not have the strength of faith,it becomes easier to die this way.

If something happenend to my wife, I don't think I'd have any reason to continue.  I live to take care of her.

Went to the funeral home just a couple days ago. My neighbors wife died, they were married 58 years. He looks like he's doing ok, but at 79???
My grandmother died when she was in her 90's. Both my dad and my aunt died before she did. I hope I don't live that long. Don't ever want to feel that kind of pain. gypsyman
