Naive headspace question
« on: September 11, 2009, 04:57:06 PM »
If a rimmed cartridge is headspaced off the rim, and a rimless cartridge is headspaced off the shoulder, does that mean by definition there can be no such thing as a rimless straight-walled case, because there is nowhere to headspace off?

It is OK to have a chuckle at my expense.

Rimless straight-walled cases headspace off the case mouth.  .45ACP, 9mm, and more all headspace this way.

'S OK, nobody knows it all (though some think they do!)  That's why we come here - to ask what we don't and answer what we do.
