It may physically fit, but H&R won't fit one to it. See the sticky in the NEF Rimfire forum.

Any frame that will accept the muzzleloading barrel and have a firing pin large enought to set off the primer will work with the barrel and safety is not a question since all the force in a muzzleloader is taken up in the barrel itself unlike a center fire barrel where the breech is part of the retention of the forces due to the firing of the charge. That is why they will not fit a center fire barrel to a Huntsman or a Sidekick unless it was a package rifle that had the stronger receiver.

John, the Versapack frame is an SB1 frame as you can see in the rimfire sticky, dunno it's strength, but it's a moot point as far as a factory fitted barrels other than the original 410 or offset bore 22Lr barrels, H&R won't fit ANY other barrels to it, even tho members here have tested other shotgun barrels on it. As Keith said, frame strength isn't really a question tho as far as a muzzleloader barrel is concerned. The only way to know if it will work is try a used one. ;) Since H&R will fit Huntsman barrels to SB1 frames, is should work fine, they just won't put one on for ya.....for whatever reason. :-\

Sidekick frames are smaller and NO other barrels will fit it.

I sent my frame in on June 13th for a 357 and 44 magnum barrel. Last week I decided I needed a muzzleloader barrel. Since my Versa Pack barrel fit on this SB2 frame, I was hoping that the muzzleloader barrel will fit on the Versa Pack frame. I notice that H&R had credited my charge card today, so I assume that my barrels should arrive next week.
Thanks,
John B.

Heh heh, I sent a frame in Tuesday for a 357 and 44 barrel too, they got the frame yesterday!! You coulda called and added the Huntsman barrel to your order if they hadn't shipped it yet, I've called and added barrels and stocks to my orders long after I sent them in, they do it, just keep adding the bill up!!

Congrats, you'll be shootin them in no time!! ;D

While we are talking about Versa Pak frames here, please remind me, do they (Versa Pak frames) have a rectangular faced firing pin as do most rimfires a or do they have a round firing pin as do centerfires and shotguns?....<><....:)

The firing pin is round. I like the idea of using the Versa Pack frame with the muzzleloader barrel because our muzzleloader season is short and I will use this frame with the other barrels when the muzzleloader season is over.
Thanks,
John B.

<Back from the depths of GBO>

Has anyone actually done this?

I have a Versa Pack and a 50 Cal barrel on the way, was just curious.

Are you saying you just had a ML bbl fitted at the factory??? As this makes no sense since other members have been turned away a few time's for no ML bbl's period. Some have had thier frames sent back with out any bbl when they were told they had them . If this is the case it is getting more ridiculous by the day. Kurt

Sorry, I didn't write that very clearly.
I just bought a versa-pack from a dealer and a used ML barrel from an individual.
