What trigger for M96 Swede?
« on: December 28, 2003, 04:40:14 AM »
This winter I will be replacing the military triggers on my two M96 Swedes. I have found Timney and Bold triggers for a reasonable price. Which of these is best, and is there a better one I should consider?

I have a timney in a Swedish M96 Mauser I picked up year or so ago and have been very satisfied with it.  Very Crisp Clean release at about 2.5 pounds.  It was in the gun when I bought it but I hear they are easy to install.

Hope this helps..

huntsman,
I'm very interested in what you decide and how the installation goes.....keep us posted on what you do, OK?

Replacement triggers for the Swedes

huntsman:  my sporterized M-38 carries a Bolt Trigger with integral safety and a bolt block to eliminate the original bolt safety.  You can get the Bold Triggers with out the integral safety if you wish.  Bold triggers are adjustable for trigger pull weight and overtravel.

I've had Timney Triggers on other sporterized mil-surps and really can't tell the difference twixt'em.  I think both brands offer the same advantages.  HTH.  Mikey.

Thanks for the input, fellow sportsmen. Will post how the trigger replacements turn out when I get around to doing them. May be several months.
