Ring height for G2

Scoping out my 44mag G2. Can I use a medium height rings or do I need high, (looking at warne or burris signature rings.) What do you use?

I've used medium height rings, Leupold/Burris, for all my pistol scopes (Leupold M8's).

I prefer medium height rings because occasionally, with high rings, the scope's elevation will not go down far enough.

Thanks for the info. $ is real tight this fall and I can't afford to buy a couple of different rings and try them out.

Generally since the scope mounts directly to the barrel and all barrels are the samee diameter in that area you can figure the same for all Contenders. The important parts of the equation are objective diameter of the scope and the style of mounts/rings. Typical 38-44 mm scopes without AO can use medium rings.

I always use the lowest rings that will allow the 'scope to be mounted on whatever I am putting it on.  The closer to the bore the better the line of site.  High mounts require too much angle to get the bullet to impact at, say, 100 yards. Then the bullet doesn't come back to point of aim for a considerable distance.  I use low whenever possible...

Good-luck...BCB

+1 on what BCB said.
