Once more my Ignorance on Parade
I was aware of the Missle Defense plans in eastern Europe, what I was wondering is/was what the hell for? Is Iran going to launch missiles into Russia, Sweden or Norway?

It was done as a countermeasure to threats from Russia. Essentially, it is a US base that protects Europe.

   At least not until the ICBM, that makes Hiroshima look like a hic-cup(12 times more potent on the SATAN Russian missiles) and the said destruction destroys the local Starbucks, Liberal Arts Museum, and food stamp office will liberals even look up. Don't know how many of them have been to Russia but they are FAR from warm and cozy to Americans. I can imagine how they are at the Presidential level.

The sales job the Bush administration did made it seem like it was more concerned with middle-east countries, but the real reason was that Russia is becoming a threat once again, and they wanted something to protect Poland. Poland is interesting because it poses few military obstacles because it's flat, and it is considered by many military experts as being an important location for wars that fit likely scenarios today.  This capitulation by Obama is a very serious matter because of the Russia issue. It's a real victory for the Russians, a military victory.
