Muzzleloader Accessory Barrel
« on: September 19, 2009, 03:20:05 PM »
I just got my first handi yesterday, and I'm already thinking about accessory barrels.  Even though the H&R site says they're not available at this time, I'm thinking about the 26" .50cal muzzleloader, along with several others.  Have any of you guys got one?  Does it make for a good muzzleloader? Thanks for your input, JR

Congrats on the buy. What type Handi did you get? I think a dedicated muzzle loader is a better way to go, unless you can find a bbl at a gun show or in the classifieds.(just my opinion, I could be wrong) You will have to check the headspace and fit the bbl if you pick one up that was fitted to another receiver. There are instructions within this forum on how to do all that.

Thanks for the input, I was kinda thinking the same, that a dedicated ml would be better.  But honestly I would probably only use it until regular rifle season opened, that is to say, I'd probably only use it two weeks out of the year, I thought just a barrel would take up less room and be cheaper.
My handi I just got is the 'ultra varmint' 24" fluted 22-250, skeletonized synthetic, have yet to scope it out, as I just got it a couple of days ago.  It'll be my dedicated yote popper.  I got a CZ527 varmint kevlar a couple of months ago with HS precision stock in .223 that was going to be my yote gun...but after looking at it I'm afraid to take it any further that my shooting table. ::)  JR
