Welcome to the forum IDMoose, and Hey ozarkhillbilly49.

I got some extra help at a few on-line sites.  One in particular is www.qrz.com .  They give over 100 different sample tests for each of the three classes.

Life has been so busy the last two years that I have a hard time setting down to read a book yet alone study for the upgrade to General. I down loaded the pod casts and would lesson to them at work or biking to and from work. I did learn more from them then the other classes that you pay for. Next stop Extra class ;D

I have two young boys lessoning to there pod classes and will be taking there test in the next month or so. They have done well with the books and QRZ, but the pod classes have been a bigger help for both of them.

4B thank you for the welcome!

biking to and from work

Is that biking like Bicycles or Motorcycles?  I enjoy bicycling for exercise in my old age, although this year my rebuilt 10 speed has been gathering some dust what with all my indulgence in the radio hobby.

That is pedal power to and from work 7.3 miles one way. When gas was over $3.25 a gallon I only filled up 2 times and that was driving to and from Boy Scouts and weekend camping trips.   As with you 4B, my bike as been in the shed most of this year too. Maybe I need to down load they Extra class pod cast and start riding again???

please do download and study for the extra class moose. you to 4b! it ain't that hard!! read thru the book a couple of times and that makes it easier. the resonance questions, antenna questions and resistance questions are easy once you see how the formulas work. with just a little pratice you can do most of the math in your head. foggy i seen you reading here to let us now how you are doing! if i can lend anyone a helping hand i sure will! take care all. aa5ez 73

Moose;  I may not do it, but studying with a pod is a thought.  My bike circuit thru town is 10 miles, takes me an hour to complete it.  Kinda be like killing two birds with one stone, huh?!
