Some of the BC's are kinda' short throated.  Makes it hard to shoot ultra big bullets.  You can do ok with 400-500gr. ahead of black powder.  I shoot the Blackhorn because I'm too lazy to scrub and because I can shoot all day without serious cleaning.  I shoot a 405 gr. hollow base cast bullet.  It works great on a steel plate, don't know about a living creature.  I can kill the steel at 800 yds. after a shot or two to zone in.

With lead bullets, I usually try for a couple thousands over.  I'm shooting .458 in my BC, but they are hollow base.  Mine slugs at .457

I always SEEM to have the best luck (read accurate) with .0010 to .0015 over the slug value.  So with .457-.458, I would use .459 cast bullets.
