I just had to use her to get the first deer of the season. Not one of my best shots, for sure. Weeds were to tall to get low to have a more stable shot, had to stand straight up with nothing to help steady me in the wind. Radio said the wind was 25-30 with gusts of 45 mph, just a slight breeze here in Montana.
Got her on my property so I know the range was about 220 yds, bullet hit just in front of her R shoulder and exited just in front of the L shoulder joint. Got the L lung and just left soup in the chest of her, heard the WHOCK when it hit, she jumped and went in the trees about 20 ft and tipped over.
One nice fat dry mule doe, no fawns with her, no milk in the udder. I really think this gun is going to be one of my favorites.
I did move the scope ahead just a bit, and with my coat on, didn't even get close to my brow. Now she has to set out the rest of the dance for this year.
To many others that need to be blooded, don't have enough tags to please em all this year.
Hope ya'll have a great season. DP
