Pan lubing with LBT lubes
« on: September 16, 2009, 01:43:47 AM »
I pan lube all the bullets that I cast: 45 ACP, 45 Colt, and 45-70.  Which of your lubes would work best for pan lubing?  I've been looking to change from the 55%/45% Beeswax/Vaseline mix that I've been using.

Thanks!

I recommend that you get our LBT Blue soft, in soid sticks so you get maximum amount of lube.  Also, rather than pan lube, just wipe a dab off the stick with the index finger of your master hand and wipe it on  the bullets just before seating.  It will go faster and with mess than pan lubing.
I sincerely promise you a performance thrill when you start shooting LBT bullet lube.
To make myself completely clear, you are not using a lubricant with that mix!
By the way.  Many readers of this column use only commercial cast bullets, and have leading problems.  If you are one, follow the above advise, smearing the LBT lube very lightly over the commercial lube, and seat your bullets.  In most cases you'll get a dramatic reduction in leading, and normally complete prevention of leading.  You'll also be able to load to much higher velocities before accuracy falls off.

Veral,

I've been reading this thread with interest!  I'm just getting into casting and, just for grins, made up my own lube from a formula supplied by a member here (thanks Dee!) of beeswax, vasiline, STP and parafin.

Anyway, it works fine -I'm pan lubing also - but I decided I want to use your Blue Soft.  Neither MidSouth nor Midway carry it.  Do you have distributors or do we order direct from you?
