Preaching to the choir but..........
« on: September 26, 2009, 06:03:06 AM »
I know I'm preaching to the choir but if this health care thing that the Democraps and their leader are trying to ram down our throats is " what the people need " then why is the president, the house, congress and the senate exempt from it ? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Spending is out of control and Obama is going around the world bowing to and hugging dictators that hate us and apologizing for the US. I have three words for them all, bulls--t, bulls--t, and bulls--t !!!!! The people that are sick of this need to rally in 2010 and take the legislature back to some form of sanity because our way of life is circling the drain right now.

Good point!

If it's "what the people need" how come nobody's asking for it except the blood sucking leeches that want to take your and my money?

Its not what the people need at all. Its what government needs, and wants to further control people's lives. Its no differant than government creating new laws and regulations for the global warming lie.

By all means let us vote the Socialist Republicans BACK IN. Maybe we can get GW to come back, and he can STRENGTHEN HIS PATRIOT ACT, and BAIL OUT THE CAR COMPANIES AGAIN, and maybe he can start a couple more wars we don't need.
That would be so much better than THE NEW LINCOLN we have now. Republican-Democrat! ALL THE SAME! There will no doubt be some seat changes in Congress in 2010, but they will be more of the same. Either Marxist Democrat or Socialist Republican. ::)

Dee, as far as war goes what would you have had GB do after 9/11. No one wanted these wars but we were attacked and some where down the road we will be again. What then ? Going into Iraq and Afghanistan were both damned if you do and damned if you don't. I didn't agree with GB on everything but to go after the people that attacked us was the right thing. IMO

Raise your hand if you believe the healthcare system in this country is perfect.

Ok, now look around and see who has their hand up.  Those people are:
1) Nutjob ideologues who can't see past what Rush tells them
2) Catestrophically stupid

Let me ask you this:  What happens right now if someone who works for $6.00 an hour somewhere and doesn't get health insurance do?  Obviously we don't want them to quit working and go on the public dime with Medicaid.  They can't afford a policy.  So what happens when they get in a car wreck?  They go to the hospital who fixes them and then sends them a bill with cartoonishly large numbers on it.  No money so they file a consumer bankruptcy and the hospital writes of a loss.  You know who that gets passed on to?  Guess?  Oh come on, you know it don't you?  That's right, the people with health insurance.

Look, the money has to come from somewhere.  If you have insurance you're already subsidizing the healthcare for the poor.  Now the question is, what is the most reasonable way to handle the situation?  THIS ISSUE WILL NOT GO AWAY.  It *may* get delayed, but it is a real issue for many Americans, and it will be back.  So tell me, I've explained the problem, instead of using childish names and thoughtless talking points, what is your answer?  How will it make the system more efficient, and how do you pay for it?

What part did the Iraqi government play in 911? It has been ADMITTED BY THE GW ADMINISTRATION, that Iraq DID NOTHING concerning 911. The only "damned if you do" folks going into Iraq, were the soldiers that ACTUALLY WENT, one being my son. Twice! He came back with the impression that they weren't worth the trouble.

Healthcare in this country is far from perfect but what Obama and his cronies are trying to push is extremely far from perfect too. Why are they exempt from it when it's supposed to be so good for us ? Check out government run healthcare in the UK. A board decides if you are worth the money it would cost to keep you alive. A years worth of quality life is worth $45,000.00 to them. If the heart operation that would give an older person life for a while longer isn't worth it to them then it doesn't happen. The same crap could happen here. My wife and I don't have healthcare right now but no one hears us crying to the government to help us. It'll happen when we can afford it. If something happens to either of us before then we'll pay it off the best we can for as long as it takes. If all the insurance companies were allowed to compete the costs would come down. I recently heard a small business owner from California say that there were 115 insurance companies in her state but she was only allowed to pick from five of them. Not much competition there.

Dee in spite of our difference of opinion I'm glad your son came back home. I do remember GB saying that the reports of WMD were false. It was my understanding that Saddam Hussein was funding terrorists.

He was certainly applauding the terrorist attacks but, it was proven that he in know way participated, physically or financially. Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda hated each other, and he had mostly driven them out of Iraq.
This was nothing more than a money deal, and a vendetta. Daddy Bush when head of the CIA, HELPED Saddam become dictator of Iraq, and even sent him to school at the "School of Americas" at Fort Benning Georgia, to train for the task. His (Saddam's) mistake? He like Manual Noriega of Panama (also trained at the "School of Americas) quit doing business with the United States, and like Noriega was taken out for the offense. Nation building is risky and seldom profitable in the long run, and the United States turned the WRONG CORNER, when our government started this trend, which has gone far beyond being right.

Dukkiller, have you read the Healthcare bill? Do we except at face value what is being said? Who is envolved with it? What will it do to those that have insurance? Do you let people sell you a gun without asking what goes with it? Answer please.

At no point did I advocate for the current bill.  Don't assume that because I'm not ranting and raving like a homeless person at Hyde Park that I'm pro-Obama.  I'm advocating for intelligent discussion on a real issue.  My biggest concern is that the American people will go with the only "answer" put in front of them.  I think there should be more answers.  Frankly, I think this issue is here because after Hillary was defeated on a single payer system no one else ever did anything about the actual problems undermining the system.  Apparently those in power simply assumed it would go away?

Lets stop with the childish name calling and moronic proclamations, let's provide answers...

So my question once again is, "what would you do, why, and how do you pay for it".

Dee, ours came back with the same impression, he figures as soon as we stop paying them to work together and shoot "that way"...they will go back to what they were and things will fall apart pretty fast and they will shoot who they want.

Anyway, your son is not the only one that thinks that,  I think we get pretty good perspective from the people who spent time there.

No one ever proved that there were no WMDs.
None were found but we know they were there because they were used on their own people.
The rat Hussein had over 18 months to dispose of them or hide them before we went in.
If they can hide a mig 21 in the desert I think they could hide a small container with enought posion to wipe out a city or nation for that matter.
The desert is a very large place!

You left out the fact that the Unions are also exempt!

They said that a person would be fined up to $3700.00 or $3800.00 each year untill they got insurance if passed.
Hell I could drop the insurance on myself, pay the top fine and still save over $10,000.00 a year!
My insurance is $2058.00 a month with a $1500.00 deductable and I pay the first 20%.
I know people who don't even make $24,000.00 a year and this year I am one of them!
Ask Canada if they like waiting months to see a doctor and then being told that their problem isn't covered.
If they have the money they are comming to the US to be treated.
Sounds like a good deal to me, NOT!!!
