« on: September 27, 2009, 11:03:14 AM »
Hi,this may sound dumb but could a winchester 94 be re-bored into a 410? cause its been four years since I ve been searching for a a 9410 and just cannot find a new (duh) or used one... so thanks for any info on that.

Probably re-barrelled would be easier, I think, and less expensive.  jmtcw.

You may need to modify the loading mechanism, too.

Why, 410 shells are so expensive and the conversion if possible is expensive.  You didn’t say what your Winchester 94 cartridge is, but if it’s a 30-30 Winchester and if you want a bigger bore, I would re-bore re-chamber to 38-55 (Ballard) Winchester.

If you want a lever action 410 bore shotgun, then I would wait for a Winchester 9410 to come up for sale in the auction sites and sell your Winchester 94
