I have a 454 Puma that jams every time,it looks like the rim is geting hung up in the cartridge guide slots were the rim of the shell rides in.Any thoughts,do I need to pollish the groves? Thanks for any help.

I would inspect both guides for any imperfections and/or galling.

Also consider that, if it's a new rifle, the wrong cartridge guides might have gotten installed, binding the rims.

You need the help of Steve Young (aka. Nate Kiowa Jones, stevesgunz.com).  He is the generally acknowledged authority on Puma(Rossi) rifles.  I don't know if he monitors this forum, but he monitors leverguns.com.

Ranger thanks for the reply,the guides are smoth and clean,the rims are not binding there is a littel bit of of play between the rim and guide.                       Thanks for the tip Chas I'll post this ? over on leverguns.
