410 Shotshell & .45 colt Taurus Judge / Public Defender
« on: September 25, 2009, 05:58:18 PM »
Pretty hefty price ,  not sure I would own one but Interesting conversation piece.
Looks like a great little nightstand go to for home defense.
Am curious has anybody fired one? would like to see a review from someone who's  had hands on experience.

A friend got one of these resently. I'm not that impressed with it. To me it's a truck/nightstand gun. Across the room or out the truck window. Accuracy just ain't there, for me. I'd spend my money on something else.

Just my opinion...

My wifes boss just got one for in his SUV , he carries a lot of cash and rare coins to trade shows , for that it may do well , but as a carry gun -- NO WAY -- too big and bulky , sprays 45 colt rounds like a shotgun .

Keep shot in it and limit its range to up close and personal , he loads 3 - buckshot 410s and 2 - 255g colt SWCs .

I have a bunch of friends that have them.  They're mostly horsemen and carry them in xdraw holsters when riding in the mts.  I've shot 7 or 8 of them and found them to shoot very well with the .45C.  They're not intended to be match guns  but will group around 3" or so at 25 yds. that's better than most .45/410 Contenders will shoot .45C.  The .410  works great for the dumb grouse that just sit there 10 ft. or so from you.  There's one called an ultralight, it's still large but light enough to carry.  Taurus is having a hard time keeping up with the demand.
