Anyone Eat Crow?(*graphic pic)
« on: October 30, 2009, 12:28:31 PM »
Just saw about 200+ fly over my house ;D That should mean a fun season. Don't come in till Dec. 13 here. I think you can shoot then anytime they are being a nusiance. I can tell just by lookin at em they're up to NO GOOD! This one met up with one of my 55 gr V-max from 22-250 at 200yds. He flew a ways, but not on his own power ;D ;D

What's left to eat? ;D  Good shooting!!  Boil it and add some homemade noodles for some "chicken" and dumplings.  Better than "Mmm Good" ;) lol

Isn't it funny how sometimes they just fly right into your shooting lane swooping down for that 55gr "bug"?  ::)

I have munched on them a couple times. While quail hunting they tend to annoy me. I step into cover when i hear them. With luck they fly low enough. Pull the breast and drop in the skillet. ;) Yours does look a little umm lite in the meat department. :D

Some things are made for eating and some things are just a nuisance and need to be put down ;D.

Dang I am not going to live this one down am I? But I swear it wasn't that bad at all. It is a little dark and a little tougher than quail. But...welll... never mind ::)

I'll stick with the 50gr. SPSXs.  Seems to disperse them better for me.

Is this you Lonny???

I ain't eatin the nasty things, their scavengers one step below a buzzard, and many times will eat just as rotten a corpse as the buzzard.

So will a hog.  Shoot, a chicken will eat it's own droppings.   What's your point?

My point is they are nastier than a chicken, and your right about the hogs. AND, baby chicks will eat each other, But there is nothing like the idea of eating a crow, and getting up from camp and seeing some more eating a road killed skunk. I wouldn't eat a hawk either. It's kinda like eating polar bear liver. Because of their diet it's toxic. Would you eat a buzzard? Some things just aren't meant to be eaten. I don't mind it ya'll do though. ;D

Old  Syko, You don't need defending, I ain't pickin on ya. I was just talkin about what I won't eat. ;D

Personally, I don't knowingly eat any kind of innerds.  I figure no matter what anything eats it's the innerds that are the filtration system that converts it all to meat (muscle) and I ain't eatin what they have filtered out.

Dee, I'm willing to bet you couldn't tell the difference between hawk, owl, crow or chicken once it's cooked.  ;D    :D    ;D

I'm bettin I could. I know what the meat looks like, before it's cooked and after.  I started life in the country in a 2 room house with no plumbing. We ate a lot of things back then, and not all tasted like chicken. I knew how to help butcher a hog, or calf, skin a rabbit, and twist a squirrel out of a hollow before I went to school. My Cherokee family was poor, and were share croppers. No one gave us anything, and we made do with what we had. Grandpa had an old lever action Marlin 22, and a single shot 12 guage but, he didn't shoot crows with'em, or buzzards either. Some things were never meant to be eaten. The Bible is real clear on what to eat and what not to eat. By the way. Even for Christians, hogs are not on the menu. ;)
