Centerfire rimfire selector

My brother is using my original (non g2 contender) hunting right now and he just called and said it did not fire.  For centerfire which way is the selector supposed to point (for the life of me I cannot remember and he seems confused)  Thanks

Both my Contender hammers are marked C or R. But if yours isn't it's to the left for center fire and right for rimfire.

    And make sure you push it all the way to R or L when you move or check it.  I have had one round off the inside of the pin and it would automatically center itself to the middle "safe" position after each shot.  You just can't imagine how loud that "click" is at exactly the wrong time. :o

Does it have a hammer extension on it
and are you loading with CCI primers?
